Introduction
Stonehenge. Tikal. Macchu Pichu. Throughout the world, these monuments provide powerful clues about mysterious lost civilizations. Why are we drawn to these sites? What secrets do they hold? Is it possible to have a sacred, magical conversation with the past?
Ancient Wisdom/Modern World ventures deep into the heart of Mexico and Central America and reveals the sacred practices and traditions of some of history’s most powerful early societies, including the Toltecs, the “Sorcerers of Ancient Mexico”.
Victor Sanchez, Toltec expert and Shamanic guide, leads the journey. While traversing rugged coastlines, venturing alongside lush rivers, and navigating treacherous rocky cliffs, we learn first-hand about indigenous life. Victor, together with one companion will confide in Grandfather Fire, climb the Sacred Mountain at Wirikuta, jump the falls near El Tajin, and get buried for the night beneath Mother Earth at El Mirador. Every expedition builds to a remarkable ritual that test endurance, will, and perseverance.
Victor Sanchez
Victor Sanchez is a researcher, writer, and spiritual guide who has worked for over twenty years with indigenous peoples of Mexico and has dedicated his life to the preservation of their tradition.
While studying anthropology in college, he was introduced to the Wirrarika, descendents of the Pre-Columbian Native American Toltecs. Victor’s extensive explorations into Toltec history and culture have allowed him the opportunity to participate in one of the most profound and powerful spiritual traditions of Mesoamerica.
Based on his experiences, Victor created a proposal for human development called The Art of Living Purposefully. He sees nature as the ideal world within which to reencounter our natural self and find answers to our fundamental questions. His work is an invitation to get away from thinking and talking about knowledge, and instead, to begin to live it in our body and our heart.
Victor speaks regularly at conferences, workshops, and seminars throughout the world. He is the author of The Teachings of Don Carlos, Toltecs of the New Millennium, The Toltec Path of Recapitulation, and The Toltec Oracle.
